NCCU’s gains 5 years EQUIS accreditation
NCCU’s gains 5 years EQUIS accreditationThe European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has re-accredited NCCU’s College of Commerce with its maximum five-year EQUIS certification. This is the school’s second re-accreditation since NCCUC’s first accreditation in 2009. Currently NCCU is the only dual accredited school in Taiwan holding both EQUIS and AACSB accreditations.
The accreditation comes following a visit by a peer review team NCCU in October, 2015. During their visit, they met the University President, Professor Edward Chow, the Dean, Professor Kwei Tang, and other members of the senior management team, faculty members, students and alumni.
The EQUIS report commended the school for its strong enthusiasm for the College and an excellent team spirit. The report highlighted the College’s impressive corporate connections with the Taiwanese business sector noting the exceptionally strong opportunities and benefits they bring to faculty, program design and student placement.
Other strengths highlighted during the audit were the quality and experience of the school’s faculty and students and the outstanding victory of a four-member team from NCCU's International MBA class in the prestigious Hult Prize against about 20,000 international competitors with a proposal underpinned by the College’s commitment to promoting business ethics and humanitarianism.
As the leading business school in Taiwan, NCCU is at the forefront of advocating business ethics education. In the past few years NCCUC collaborated with EFMD/EQUIS and recorded several achievements, such as translating the EFMD book "The Sustainable Business" and establishing a first of its kind research center for business ethics and CSR education in the greater China area. The center developed more than 20 business ethics cases and coordinated international ethics related seminars.
International accreditation is part of the school’s strategy to further increase its international outreach, “We are delighted and honored by receiving the 5-year accreditation for the first time. It is recognition for the quality of our school and the dedication and achievements by our stakeholders. We plan to continue using the EFMD platform and network to further enhance our international outreach and collaboration. As the leading business school in Taiwan, we take the responsibility of advancing innovation in business education to prepare future business leaders to succeed in the competitive global economy.” said Professor Kwei Tang, Dean of the College of Commerce.
