Below is a brief introduction of the business function :
The Pacific Operations team at Apple ensure that the highest quality products are available to our worldwide customers, where and when they want them. We help develop, manufacture, procure, fulfil, and support Apple products and accessories-everything we do is aimed at delivering the best products and experience to our customers.
1) Pacific Product Operations:
The Pacific Product Operations team manages new product introduction across 20 countries in PAC.
We orchestrate how new products will be launched across all of Apple’s routes to markets (Online,
Retail and Channel) as well as expansion into new strategic channels and markets. We are the focal
point of contact for product marketing, legal, government affairs and compliance to ensure that all
Apple products are fully compliant with regional in- country regulations. Our team offers continuous
learning for individuals who thrive in fast paced and dynamic environments.
2) Pacific Supply Demand Management (SDM):
Supply Demand Management is the nerve centre for operations at Apple. We have our pulse on
demand for Apple products in Greater China, Japan, South Asia, and Australia and it is our job to
ensure supply availability to meet this demand. Whether you want to buy from Apple store on the
internet, one of over fifty Apple retail stores in this region, or through our reseller partners, SDM team
ensures that your favourite product is on shelf or ready to ship. We work with various cross-functional
teams to achieve our goal - WW SDM for product allocation, Sales and Finance on demand
assumptions and revenue plan, OEM to produce products in right quantity and on-time, routes to
market teams on order execution, and logistics to move supply. We also work closely on product
launches with Readiness team and drive process improvement with Business Process Reengineering
3) Pacific Reseller Operations:
Pacific Reseller Ops manage one of the 3 routes to market in Apple. We manage a significant part of
Apple business that encompasses working with the Telco carriers as well as resellers and distributors in
the region. Working deeply with our partners to maximise sell through by collaborating with them on
planning and forecasting is what excites us. We create a positive customer experience through ensuring
our partners are fully stocked.
4) Pac Logistics:
Pac Logistics gets Apple products from our manufacturers to the right places and at the right times to
deliver the highest level of service to our customers whilst optimizing our costs.
5) Retail Fulfilment Logistics
Apple Retail Store is a retail environment like no other. It is the face of Apple which focused on
delivering amazing customer experiences. In Pacific, Apple Retail business is expanding at an amazing
speed. In the past 2 months, 6 new stores opened in China and Retail Fulfilment and Logistics (RFL)
has directly supported this growth. RFL is a team that ensure that anyone who walks into our Apple
Retail Stores across the countries in Pacific can always find their favorite Apple products. We work
with various cross-functional teams to achieve our goal - WW SDM for product allocation, Merchants
and Finance on demand assumptions, and logistics to move supply. On exciting new product launches,
we also work closely with Readiness team and drive process improvement with Business Process
Reengineering (BPR) team.
6) Apple Fulfillment Store Fulfillment
Apple Fulfilment Operations sits at the cross-roads between the Online Sales organisation and physical
operations to ensure that customer’s orders are delivered on time and with the great experience that we
expect of Apple. In the dynamic e-commerce environment Fulfilment Operations is instrumental in
shaping and communicating the Online Store’s service strategies, driving customer experience
excellence and continuously exploring improvement opportunities in the operational space in all Asia
Pacific countries so that our customers can benefit. We manage the operations preparation of demand
generating events such as Red Friday and Back to School promotions to ensure that out Logistics
function can prepare and execute. Fulfilment Operations is ultimately responsible for the delivery of
the products you buy through our online stores.
7) Business Process Re-engineering
The Business Process Reengineering team’s charter is to support the Operations function address scale,
efficiency and capability needs as well as expanding Apple’s presence in new geographies. We
facilitate the Capital Planning process that would enable the business with new process and systems
capability and are the subject-matter-experts who are responsible for the delivery of capital projects as
well as lead teams on process improvement initiatives. Individuals with a passion for supply chain
process improvements and strong project management skills would be an ideal fit into this team.
